6 December - Change Your Energy!

An alternative advent calendar

We are currently living in a world that is reliant on fossil fuels - coal, oil and gas are unsustainable as the burning and use of them are increasing the negative effects of climate change.

Of course we rely on energy for our daily lives so whilst we can (and should) actively think about how we can reduce usage, we need to move towards cleaner and more sustainable energy. A quick internet or phone call can make a huge difference to the planet. And remember, if you are a tenant, you are responsible for the energy bills meaning that you do not need to ask the permission of your landlord before switching.

By moving to a green energy tariff, we not only show the utility companies that the demand is there we are letting them know that we want to actively move away from the dirty fuels.

Fortunately, over the past few years there has been an increase in green energy suppliers making it much easier to not only switch but also select a company which suits your needs including price and good customer service.

It can not only save the planet but also save you money. However, whilst this is a very important consideration, please think of the long term benefit of switching to clean energy.

What is really exciting is that along with national suppliers, London now has a it's own energy company. My London Power powered by Octopus Energy.

"A different kind of energy company founded by the Mayor of London. Always fair, always affordable, always green. And we don't just look out for you, we also look after your community by reinvesting to help improve Londoners' lives.
